Moving inland there are two villages of interest for a quick excursion: San Piero in Campo where the Romanisque church of San Nicoḷ is to be found. Built on the remains of a Romanesque temple it contains frescoes of 1400's and 1500's. On the same road Sant'Ilario and the Roman churc of San Giovanni and the nearby tower, built by the Pisans on a enormous granitic mass.

The village of Marina di Campo looks onto the biggest beach on the island, and has developed along the crescent of the wide sheltered bay. A 15th century tower dominates the village harbour.

Moving along the coastline there are other popular beaches such as Fetovaia, nestled in small verdant bay, Cavoli and Seccheto.
